One baseball owner takes “root, root, root for the home team” a little too seriously.
You don't need to a baseball fan to know the lyrics to "Take Me Out To the Ballgame." It's a classic old-timey tune that embodies the the joyful innocence of enjoying 9 innings of America's pastime.
Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.
Ken Kendrick, the owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, apparently confused this fun ditty with Baseball Law.
