13 Reasons Older Ladies Love Fred Couples

The golfer is a hit with the housewife set.

Earlier today, my mother text messaged me and told me we should do a post on why older women love Freddie Couples. I thought this was embarrassing and weird, but when I brought it to the attention of the rest of the BuzzFeed Sports team, they asked their respective mothers only to find that the Freddie love is pretty universal. Our very own Matt Kiebus has witnessed this love firsthand at PGA events, telling us "At the events I went to (The US Open and two PGA championships), the women swooned over Freddie. He has the most groupies at tour events of anyone not named Tiger." Who knew? So here are some reasons why ladies loves Fred (aka LL Cool F).

Usain Bolt Explains His Running Technique

How To Eat Every Item On The Masters Concession Menu In One Day Without Dying

It costs $53 to get one of everything, but you can't put a price on your dignity.

Via: @AshleyKMayo

If the Masters and Augusta National are known for anything, it's preserving tradition. Tradition makes the annual major tournament one of the prestigious events in sports — and one of the most controversial. But despite its politics, a ticket to the Masters remains one of the hardest for sports fans to get ahold of, often costing "patrons," as they're called, upwards of $3,000 online.

Inside the gates, though, prices plummet drastically. Unlike most sporting events, where concessions vendors gouge captive spectators with $9 Bud Lights and $15 deli sandwiches, it's widely noted inside Augusta's walls that attendees could order everything on the menu and spend no more than $60. The famous pimento cheese sandwich costs $1.50.

Yesterday, as one of the lucky few at the Masters, I decided to put this to the test. My goal: TO CONSUME EVERY ITEM ON THE CONCESSIONS MENU IN ONE DAY WITHOUT DYING/VOMITING/GETTING EJECTED FOR UPSETTING OTHER PATRONS WITH MY UNCONTROLLED "MEAT SWEATS."

Note: Since the tournament does not allow any cameras or phones, receipts will be my evidence. I promise any and all items listed here were consumed by me during Saturday's round.

10:01 AM: Chicken Sandwich, Sausage Biscuit, Coffee: $6.00

10:01 AM: Chicken Sandwich, Sausage Biscuit, Coffee: $6.00

An auspicious start to the day. Breakfast at the Masters ends promptly (as all things do at Augusta) at 10 AM. Get to the course too late, and you're done before you've started. Panicked, I barreled through the gates with minutes to spare, walking with purpose (there is absolutely NO RUNNING ALLOWED on the grounds) and made it to breakfast. The spoils: a pretty standard sausage patty on a flavorless biscuit, a startlingly cold chicken patty sandwich, and one Masters blend coffee. REVIEW: An unremarkable meal all around, made somewhat sweeter by almost missing out. ADRENELINE MAKES EVERYTHING TASTE BETTER.

This is terrible.

According to the Associated Press a tragic suicide occurred at this weekend's NRA 500 NASCAR race in Texas.

A medical examiner says a man who died in the infield during the NRA 500 at Texas Motor Speedway shot himself in the head.

The Tarrant County (Texas) medical examiner's office on Sunday said the death of 42-year-old Kirk Franklin of Saginaw, Texas, was a suicide.

Fort Worth police have said a man who was camping in the infield died of a "self-inflicted injury" after getting into an argument with other campers. The incident happened late in the Sprint Cup race.

The National Rifle Association has yet to release a statement, but the event's champion shooting guns into the air in celebration shortly after the tragedy doesn't make for a great photo op.

The Masters Just Had One Of The Most Thrilling Finishes In Tournament History

Golf's legendary major went to a playoff before Adam Scott — no, not that Adam Scott — took the Green Jacket.

By the end of the fourth and final day of the 2013 Masters tournament, Tiger Woods was done for and it had come down to two men: Argentina's Angel Cabrera and Australia's Adam Scott, who shared the lead going into the final hole. After Scott birdied this putt on 18, it looked like he had the Green Jacket in his grasp.

Scott sure thought he did: he celebrated by screaming "COME ON, AUSSIES" and high-fiving his caddie, former Woods caddie Steve Williams.

But, needing a birdie himself on the tournament's final hole, Cabrera hit this tremendous iron shot to put himself within striking distance. He hit the putt easily, pushing the Masters into a playoff.

In His 10 Worst Games This Year, LeBron Still Played Better Than Several All-Stars

There may not be a better testament to how incredible LeBron's year has been than this.

LeBron James is having an unreal season. He's averaging 26.8 points, 8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists a game while shooting 56.5% from the field for the league's best team. He's a virtual lock to win the MVP award.

But his season seems even more impressive when you look at his ten WORST games. I chose based on the games that were rated lowest by Basketball Reference's GameScore function.

But his season seems even more impressive when you look at his ten WORST games. I chose based on the games that were rated lowest by Basketball Reference's GameScore function.

Over these 10 games, the Heat went 6-4 — a winning percentage of .600, or well below their season percentage of .800, but also a rate that still would've made them one of the league's better teams.

And LeBron? Over these 10 games — remember, these are the 10 WORST games of his season — he averaged 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 3.9 turnovers on 47.6% shooting.

If those numbers were his season averages, LeBron would be the league's 12th-highest scorer.

He'd have a higher shooting percentage than Kobe Bryant, James Harden, and Carmelo Anthony.

He'd have more rebounds per game than all but one player who scores more than 19.3 points per game, that player being LaMarcus Aldridge.

And he'd have more points, rebounds, and assists, plus a higher shooting percentage, than Luol Deng and Paul George, who both made the Eastern Conference All-Star team.

In short: if LeBron James played as poorly in every game as he did in his 10 worst, he'd still be an All-Star.

How To Take All The Fun Out Of Attending A Baseball Game

$

One baseball owner takes “root, root, root for the home team” a little too seriously.

You don't need to a baseball fan to know the lyrics to "Take Me Out To the Ballgame." It's a classic old-timey tune that embodies the the joyful innocence of enjoying 9 innings of America's pastime.

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.

Ken Kendrick, the owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks, apparently confused this fun ditty with Baseball Law.

At the time of explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line, about half of the race's competitors still had not finished.

In the wake of explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, it appears that over 10,000 runners had yet to finish and remained on the course.

Last year, the average finishing time of the 21,554 runners to complete the marathon was 4:18:27. The clock at the finish line when the bomb went off showed about 4:10:00, and CNN said that half of the 25,000 runners had not completed the race yet this year.

In Two Weeks, Oklahoma City Is Hosting A Memorial Marathon For 1995 Bombing Victims

Eerie resonance for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, scheduled for April 28.

The 13th annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon, an event dedicated to the memories of those who died in the April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred Murrah Federal Building, is scheduled to be run April 28. The marathon's website describes its mission:

As a tribute to the victims, family members and survivors of the bombing, Oklahoma City hosts the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.

We run to give to the Memorial. We run to involve the community, the nation, and perhaps the world in the continuing process of coping with the tragedy of the past. We run as a step toward a better future.

The idea to organize a marathon as a memorial to the bombing victims and survivors and as a fundraiser for the Oklahoma City National Memorial came to us early one morning during a training run. Since then, each year has brought growth and challenge. We credit God with getting us this far, and we trust Him to take us on.

Oklahoma City IS a Marathon City. The marathon is a wonderful analogy of the character of our people, the history of our trials and difficulties, and the way in which we have overcome and persevered. The Memorial Marathon provides an appropriate way for us to honor the victims and survivors, while at the same time celebrating the miracle of life. It is our hope that you will join people from all over Oklahoma, this nation and even the world in giving this gift to the victims' families, the survivors, the Memorial, and our community.

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon benefits the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum. They have released a statement in reference to the bomb attack today at the Boston Marathon:
