WWE Faces Backlash After Wrestler Pulls Down Russian Flag On Live TV
Long story short, it pissed off everyone in one way or another.
WWE has once again caused controversy after an incident which saw the Russian flag seemingly disrespected on this week's WWE Raw.
During a segment between Rusev, who portrays a pro-Russian character, and The Big Show, who was defending the United States, saw the Russian flag ripped down by The Big Show and thrown on the ground.

WWE Immediately issued an apology regarding the incident.
"We at WWE would like to apologize to the Russian people for the incident on Monday Night Raw that could have been construed as disrespect for their nation's flag."

Matthew McConaughey Does Chest-Beating Song With Texas Longhorns
The Wolf of 40 Acres.
In case you don't know, Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey is a big fan of the Texas Longhorns football team.

In fact, the Texas alum was in the locker room when they won the 2005 BCS National Championship.
So when he was invited to practice this past Saturday, McConaughey gave the team a pep talk, which included his infamous chest-beating hum from The Wolf of Wall Street.
Not surprisingly, the Longhorns went on to beat Kansas 23-0 later that day.

Patriots Give Touching Tribute To Opponent's Daughter Who Is Battling Cancer

On Sunday night, during the Cincinnati-New England game, the Patriots cheerleaders put on a No. 75 jersey as a tribute to Bengals defensive lineman Devon Still, whose 4-year-old daughter, Leah, is battling cancer.
In June, Leah was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer and given a 50-50 chance of survival.
To help raise money and awareness about pediatric cancer, the Cincinnati Bengals announced that all of the proceeds from the sales of Still's jersey would be donated to the pediatric research efforts of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
This, after Still had been cut from their 53-man roster, and then signed to the practice squad so Leah would be covered under the team's health insurance policy.

Florida Quarterback Is Suspended Following Sexual Assault Allegation
Treon Harris is being investigated by the University of Florida for allegedly sexually assaulting a female student on Sunday, the school said.
Harris, a student athlete at University of Florida, was suspended from all team activities, the school said. The campus police are investigating the incident with the assistance of the Gainesville Police Department to collect and analyze forensic evidence.
According to reports, charges have not yet been filed against Harris.
Harris led the Gators to victory over Tennessee during Saturday's football game.
SB Nation reported that Harris was one of the Gators' highest-profile recruits this February.
"We have no tolerance for sexual assault on our campus,” University President Bernie Machen said in a statement. "The university is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for every member of the UF community. We must strive to protect all of our students from sexual harassment and assault, and do everything in our power to promote a safe learning environment."

Most men don’t understand equality.
Not all men know how to talk with women about sports, in case you hadn't noticed. The reason? They don't view women as equal members of society and men need to feel more superior than women.

So in order for your man to understand how to talk about sports with women, you need to give him statistics. Treat the facts about female sports fans as, well, statistics, and you'll suck him right in. Such as...
Since Title IX was written into law in 1972, female participation in high school athletics has risen over 1,000% from about 200,000 to nearly 3.2 million.
In that same time frame, the number of female athletes at NCAA schools has increased from 30,000 to over 193,000, making up nearly 45% of all collegiate athletes nationwide.

Now, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll, 49% of Americans identified themselves as pro football fans.
Of that group, an estimated 47% are women.
In other words, if there are 10 women at a sports bar, at least four of them were high school athletes, and five or more follow the NFL. Which is pretty much the exact same odds you'd get if the bar were only filled with men. Statistically speaking, of course.
Plus, you know, there's all the women who work in sports and sports-related fields, in addition to those who may have developed an interest later on in life.

17 Things You Learn When You Spend The Day With An Olympic Swimmer
Last week, I shadowed (and swam with) Olympian Jessica Hardy, a gold-medal swimmer, at her practice in Los Angeles. This is what I learned about what it takes to make it to the Games.

Olympians swim a lot. Like, a lot a lot. (Duh.)
Hardy, who won a gold and a bronze medal for her relay work at the 2012 London Olympics, was in the water for about two hours, which isn't a crazy amount of time. But when you start adding up how much she swims annually, and has swam in her 10-year national team career, you just might be blown out of the water (pun intended).
Hardy estimates that she averages about 3.7 miles in the pool daily, 1,252 miles annually, and just over 5,000 miles every Olympic cycle. Yeah, that's A LOT of swimming.

They also practice HARD.
I got the chance to hop in the water for about 45 minutes with Trojan Swim Club, the team Hardy trains with, to get an idea of how fast they swim, and boy, did I eat their bubbles. But they didn't just move faster; obviously, they're Olympic-level, they should be crushing me. Everything they did was effortless. While I was struggling to not embarrass myself (and I swim with an adult team and captained my high school team), Hardy & Co. were going about business like they were auditioning for the live-action version of The Little Mermaid. All of this brings me to my next point...

It's all about technique.
The 27-year-old Hardy said maintaining good technique is "the most important thing" in anything she does, and highlighted something she often says when she talks to younger athletes.
“I always tell kids when I start talking to them how important it is with their school backpack, if they have six books in them, not to have it sagging at their butt, thinking about your posture every day when you’re walking around doing anything else," she said. "[This] will help you be a better athlete because you’ll be more aware of your body.”

English Cricketer Kevin Pietersen Is Making A Young Indian Fan's Dreams Come True
And, in the process, winning both our hearts and the internet.
Rohan, a young Indian fan, sent a heartfelt letter to England cricketer Kevin Pietersen, asking him for one-on-one coaching.
In the letter, Rohan explains that the one-on-one sessions with Pietersen are too expensive and although he's saved up some money, his family can't afford it. He goes on to say that he thinks that Pietersen is the best, and that he brings "swagger" to the game.
Rohan doesn't live in Surrey, but says in his letter that he will fly down just for that one session. He also explains that he won't brag about it – he'll just be happy if Pietersen agrees to it.
Upon receiving the adorable letter, Pietersen posted a picture of it on his Facebook, saying, "I received this letter at my signing session last night. I have never profited from a one-on-one. Only ever done them for charity but this letter touched me. I would be delighted to coach you at The Oval and I will organise all your transport so that it doesn't cost you a penny, Rohan!"
