"In the past I've always supported the player and not the institution—unless we're talking about the Kentucky Wildcats and the Toronto Raptors; I will never stray from them," he continued. "But whether it comes to soccer or football or basketball, I have a lot of friends that play for a lot of teams. I'm not team jumping. I'm a supportive friend."

    Sorry everyone.

This video, posted two days ago, appears to be a North Korean news report claiming the country has made the World Cup final.

    youtube.com

A whole load of news sites have reported that the video is an official North Korean state broadcast.

A whole load of news sites have reported that the video is an official North Korean state broadcast.

They include the Mirror, Metro, CBC and Toronto Sun, although some have updated their posts.

    mirror.co.uk

    However...

For a start, as this report shows, North Koreans are not only aware that their team didn't make the World Cup; they can even watch it on TV. In 2010 a deal was announced by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union which allowed the country to broadcast World Cup matches.

The television channel earlier covered the opening ceremony of the Brazil World Cup, also about a day later, before broadcasting the opening match between Brazil and Croatia as well as games between Chile and Australia, Mexico and Cameroon as well as between Spain and the Netherlands.

The North Korean TV footage showed that Pyongyang produced the films by taping what a South Korean broadcaster had aired, with the name of the South Korean company blurred on the screen.

Who is the most powerful of them all?

Major League Baseball's 2014 Home Run Derby takes place tonight. It'll include a new bracket format, lots of Chris Berman yelling, and 10 of the best power hitters in the world. Even among this talented group, Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton stands out.

    John Templon / BuzzFeed

Stanton and Colorado's Troy Tulowitzki are tied for the home run lead among derby participants with 21 apiece. But Stanton's homers have averaged more than 423 feet according to ESPN's Home Run Tracker — the farthest in the league and 25 feet farther than Tulowitzki's.

While moon-shots may be impressive, in the Derby they're worth no more than homers that barely squeak over the outfield fence. Oakland's relatively-underpowered Yoenis Cespedes won last year's Derby, with 32 home runs. They might not have gone far, but they got the job done.

Here are the 2014 Home Run Derby participants:

Jose Bautista - Toronto Blue Jays
    Brian Dozier - Minnesota Twins
    Adam Jones - Baltimore Orioles
    Yoenis Cespedes - Oakland Athletics
    Josh Donaldson - Oakland Athletics
    Troy Tulowitzki - Colorado Rockies
    Todd Fraizer - Cincinnati Reds
Yasiel Puig - Los Angeles Dodgers
    Giancarlo Stanton - Miami Marlins
    Justin Morneau - Colorado Rockies
